Marcia McWhorter; BSN, RN, CCMFT, Director of NBCC.
Marcia has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and is a RN in the state of Georgia. She holds a Master’s in
Pastoral Counseling and is a Certified Marriage and Family Therapist.  She has been a counselor for
over 20 years and the Director of counseling centers supervising counselors for many years.  She has a
great compassion for those hurting, sparks new life, and challenges you to grow in your relationships!

Ashley has recently finished her Master’s in Professional Counseling from Mercer University. She is a
National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licenced Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in the
state of Georgia. She is the co-leader of a counselor networking group, which serves the purpose of
increasing multicultural competency with Christian clients to Mercer University graduate students.
She also volunteers her time to the Cody Lane Foundation, which serves to provide individual
Christian discipleship and group education for spiritual growth and development, emotional healing,
and supportive counsel. She has experience with addictions, anxiety, depression, marriage and
family, and grief. She has also led substance abuse and anxiety counseling groups. Her passion is
working with the Holy Spirit as an assistant in getting to the root of the problem, and allowing Christ
to heal the human heart.

Yolanda Monteiro, B Psy, MA, LPC, Clinical Supervisor: Yolanda has a heart to see the people
healed and made whole again in spirit, mind and body.  She earned a Bachelors in Psychology, a
Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Cleveland State University.  She is a Licensed
Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor.  She has
focused herself on delivering the highest quality of care.  Her sensitivity and compassion seeks to

LaShay Dowley, MAMFT, LAPC
Shay is a counselor with a special interest in group, individual, couples, and family counseling who is
an interactive, solution-focused counselor. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and
practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.  With over ten years
experience in the fields of psychiatry and psychology, and as a graduate of Richmont Graduate
University (formerly Psychological Studies institute) with a MA in Marriage & Family Therapy,
specializing in Christian Sex Therapy, she is currently serving as practitioner working with a broad
spectrum of clients. Among her areas of focus are sexual trauma, sexual dysfunctions, addictions,
mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders and spiritual struggles.

Joy Stembridge, BS Psych,  Pastoral Counselor
Counselor from New Mercies Christian. She desires to see people's lives enriched and stability
come to their crisis situations. She will be starting in January 2012.
Martina Watson, MAMFT, LAPC
Martina has a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. She has a
passion for seeing marriages, families, children, and adolescents not only thrive, but also explode in
fulfillment for Christ. I became a therapist because I never wanted to see another family end up like
mine. No longer did I want to see two people who promised to love each other separate, divorce, and
spend years vilifying each other and causing pain. I also had no desire to see or know children who
had become lost, dis-planted, angry and depressed all while being emotionally imprisoned in their
very real, but shattered world.  I look forward to helping families and individuals press through their
struggles to embrace all that God has promised them which is a

Tara Taylor, MAPC,
Tara has a Bachelor's Degree in Interpersonal Communication with a Masters in Professional
Counseling from LIberty University. She has worked in marital and family situations as well as with
individuals with self esteem issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance abuse and child abuse.
She has worked in school environments as well as teen and adult groups in multiple areas.  She
